French: Grandes Lignes chapitre 1 (A, B, E, F + grammaire). Maths: chapter 2, area.
This week
Pick the days and the plan below adjusts. Tick things off as you go; it remembers on this device.
Short and often beats long and once. 20 minutes a day, every day, is worth more than 2 hours the night before. Sleep is when it sticks.
French: the test asks both directions. NL→FR (typing) is the hard one, so do most of your rounds that way. Every accent counts: été ≠ ete. Learn the phrases as whole sentences, not word by word.
Maths: most lost marks are not formula mistakes but (1) using the slanted side instead of the perpendicular height, (2) forgetting the ½ for triangles and kites, (3) forgetting the unit² at the end. Write the formula first, then fill in the numbers, then the answer with unit.
| mannelijk ev. (of klinker / stomme h) | vrouwelijk ev. | meervoud | |
|---|---|---|---|
| mijn | mon père · mon amie | ma mère | mes parents |
| jouw | ton | ta | tes |
| zijn / haar | son | sa | ses |
| ons / onze | notre | notre | nos |
| jullie / uw | votre | votre | vos |
Controleer: elk bezittelijk voornaamwoord, elk accent, elk land-voorzetsel.
Chapter 2 · area
Pick shapes, then solve. Write the formula on paper first, then fill in. Answer with the number only; the unit is shown.
Know these by heart
Split the shape into rectangles, triangles, trapeziums or kites you know. Add the pieces (or take the big rectangle and subtract the cut-out). Label every piece's base and height before you calculate.
Area is always unit²: cm², m², ft². On a coordinate grid, 1 square = 1 cm² unless the question says otherwise. Read base and height off the grid by counting squares (or subtracting coordinates).
The classic mistake
The height is the perpendicular distance (the dashed line at 90°), never the slanted side. One wrong pick here costs the whole question on the test.
